Eufy has been in the smart lock business for a few years now , and being one of their authorised installers for the last 2 years, i must say they have grown rapidly in this short peroid of time. The Eufy C210 smart lock was designed for the budget conscious but packed full of features.
This slim looking lock, with built in wifi, keypad with key over-ride, auto lock and locking/unlocking through your mobile phone functions for less than $250 AUD. Its a great lock for Airbnb landlords. Not just because of the low cost, but because you can change the user code remotely after every guest has checked out. (you do need the internet for this to happen)
Installation of the lock is not too complicated for those who are DIYers. It replaces a standard residential deadbolt with a 54mm hole behide it. Just make sure all the holes are lined up properly or you will face issues in future.
It uses 4 AA batteries, depending on the frequency of use, i will safely say it should last minimum 6 months before you need to change out the batteries. (Always use normal alkaline batteries and not rechargeable, for some reason the smart locks do not like the fancy stuff)
Connecting to the app is a breeze. Simply download the Eufy security app, create a new account if you don't already have one, and follow the step by step instructions on the phone.
Having said all the positives, the downsides will be its built quality. Compared to the more expensive line of smart locks Eufy carries , this lock feels light in your hands. Battery life is shorter than the other models as it only hold 4 AA batteries. Bio metrics scanner is not available in this model but is avaliable in the next model up.
This lock also do not come with a door sense. I personnally do prefer a smart lock with a door sense so that when the auto lock feature is activated, the lock will not auto lock when the door is open. This will prevent damaging the locking bolt when the door slams shut with the bolt in the lock position.
